Game 88
Elmwood vs. Delavan (Boy's Basketball)
ICAC Tournament (@ Williamsfield)
(1/12/11)
The middle game featured the Elmwood Trojans and Delavan Panthers. Before the game, I headed to Twitter to update the prior game score and to check out what was going on in Twitter-land. There was a tweet about Jersey Shore. I don't watch much TV outside of sports, and I certainly DON'T watch Jersey Shore, or any other show appearing on MTV. Here are my favorite TV shows that I DVR.
1) Criminal Minds
2) Cold Case
3) One Tree Hill (everybody has a guilty pleasure...don't judge me, LOL)
4) Without a Trace
5) CSI (the original is my favorite, followed by Miami, and not too fond of New York)
Elmwood jumped out to a 12-10 lead at the end of one quarter, and held on to a 25-21 halftime lead. Neither team had trouble handling the ball. By my count, Delavan had just two turnovers in the first half, and five for Elmwood. The Trojans would finish with 12 turnovers, and Delavan with 9.
The teams each scored 9 points in the 3rd quarter, and Elmwood outscored Delavan 20-16 in the last eight minutes to win, 54-46. Max Schelkopf scored a game-high 18 points for Elmwood, while Nolan Ingersoll added 14 points and Nick Almasi scored 10 points. Elmwood's Nathan Ingersoll was in street clothes after suffering an injury in Monday night's game. Kelly Wass scored 17 points to lead Delavan.
Foul Shots
Elmwood went to the free throw line 23 times, and made 17 of those shots (74%), while Delavan had only 5 trips to the line, and made 3 of those shots (60%).
Elmwood is now 13-3 on the season, Delavan drops to 7-10.
