We are now getting to the marquee matchups of the Riverton Shootout. Newark comes in ranked (#8) in Class 1A, while Williamsville is receiving votes in the Class 2A AP rankings. The Norseman dropped three spots in the latest rankings.

These two teams have a combined record of (42-5). The Norseman are (21-2), while the Bullets are (21-3). Newark features three Anderson's in their starting lineup, Kyle, Brett, and Jeremy. Two are brothers, who transferred in from Aurora Christian, while the third Anderson is no relation.

It was Anderson, Kyle that did a bulk of the damage for Newark, scoring 10 points in the first quarter alone. The Norseman got off to a hot start, and led 14-13 after a quarter. The Bullets made a run late in the first quarter to get back within a point.

This game would start a trend of teams getting the hot start, fading fast. Newark dominated the first six minutes of this game, however Williamsville shifted the momentum back late in the quarter, and built on it throughout the game.

Newark went cold in the second quarter, scoring just seven points. Williamsville put up 12 second quarter points, and the Bullets led the Norseman 25-21 at halftime. Kyle Anderson had 13 of the 21 Newark points, while Williamsville was led by a very balanced scoring attack. The Bullets had six players score between three and seven points in the first half.

The Bullets continued where they left off in the second half, jumping out to a 15-7 run in the third quarter, to extend their lead out to 40-28 heading into the fourth quarter. The Bullets were bombing from long range, hitting 11 three-pointers in the game. Josh Gentile, Tanner Schultz, and Brad Wagner each hit three a piece.

Williamsville would move on to beat Newark 66-46. The Bullets were led by Josh Gentile's 17 points, with Brad Wagner contributing 14 points, and Tanner Schultz with 13 points. Wagner was named the Player of the Game. Newark's Kyle Anderson scored a game-high 24 points.
