Game 5: Havana vs. Pleasant Plains

Game 5
Havana vs. Pleasant Plains
(11/18/09)

Another key matchup at the Macomb Lady Bomber Classic. This game started the second night of the tournament. For the second straight game, the Plains Cardinals started slowly, trailing 14-4 after the first quarter. Just like Monday, Plains would rally in the second quarter, and took a halftime lead (26-24). It was all Havana in the third quarter, as the Ducks outscored the Cardinals 21-9. Macy Brown (Jr.) had a big third quarter, with 10 points, including a 4-4 effort in that quarter from the free throw line. The Cardinals outscored Havana by ten points in the fourth quarter to force the extra session. Marissa Jenkins had a huge second half for Plains (14 points). Havana would outlast Plains (63-57) when it was all said and done. Brown scored a game-high 23 points, while Samantha Ellsworth (So.) pitched in 13 points. Jenkins scored a team-high 21 points for Plains, while Kelsey Owens added 11 points. This was Havana's second overtime in as many games, after falling to Knoxville in the opening night of the tournament.
